True Leaders Don’t Create Followers, They…

Goal Setting, Ideation, Irresistible, Speaking
This is my favorite way of living life; via example. I believe in excellence in self, and also by celebrating the strengths of those around me. It is magic made in this moment. Teams are solidified, leaders are empowered through their own behavior, communities are lifted. "Your vision will become clear only when you can look into your own heart. Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakens." Carl Jung Taken a step further, once you are awakened, you can only then use this to create an awakening in those around you. "Great leaders find ways to connect with their people and help them fulfill their potential." Steven J. Stowell

A Plan VS. An Adventure

Goal Setting
The thing about prescribing success comes down to one solid point: the outcome. Success is simply a perspective. To some it is clearly defined, while to others, the definition alone defeats the purpose in life. No matter where you fall on the spectrum between well thought out plan and an adventure, eventually, you will get 'there'. Stop subscribing to bull-shit expectations and just do you more. I always fantasize about a specific place and time in my minds eye; I can see the billowing pink clouds reflected in the water at that's whetting my toes. As I lay sit back and close my eyes... it smells like honeysuckle in full blossom. As I lounge in a hammock without a care in the world, I feel the sunshine-soaked breeze touch my elbows…

Fear Can Help You Kick Ass

Goal Setting
Have you ever heard someone say, "Feel the fear and do it anyway." If you're like me, I have at least a thousand times, and I despise it more and more every day. A few years ago, I started experiencing more success when instead of feeling the fear and doing whatever it was I was apprehensive of anyway, I simply used fear to my advantage. You see, fear and excitement are emotions that are born from the same place, and inasmuch, the same set of hormones are released to rage through our human-ness and make big shit happen. We don't doubt excitement. When we think of our dreams as a play we could really make possible in our lives, we feel ecstatic and start doing whatever it takes to have…

Building Resilience while Handling Rejection

Goal Setting, Ideation
Yesterday, of all days, I received two frustrating bits of news; both large scale rejection letters. One came in the form of an email, the second came as a piece of snail mail, and both said, in a peanut shell, "After careful consideration and a lot of competition, we're giving this to someone else." If only it was as easy to make peanut butter cookies as it is to read the mail. Rejection, as I have come to understand it is one way of kicking a sales person square in the ass, stating "get out of your own way, and kick your effort up a notch." But this particular conclusion didn't hit me till later on in the day. What hit me first, was a moment to embrace the rejection.…

Attention is Generosity

Goal Setting, Speaking
What if a solution is easier than we thought? Friendships, peace, quality, respect, personal and professional growth... What you give positive attention to will directly impact your ability to influence. In my garden, I want every piece of organic produce picked to be loaded with minerals, vitamins, and all the good stuff to integrally support a healthy body. I give piles of steer manure, cause that is what's needed for a plant to thrive, and in return, loads of organic produce, for my children, for myself, and for my unsuspecting friends and neighbors gifted with the overages of crunchy cucumbers harvested from the vines. Influence as an essence, is ones capacity to effect the movement of the people around us. Give your unique attention, filled with the essence of you.…
